IPR protection and enforcement at trade fairs in Europe
The presentation begins with a brief introduction of the Messe Frankfurt corporate group and its core competencies: textiles fairs, technical fairs and consumer goods fairs. Further it gives information on the dimension of brand product piracy and the economic dilemma posed by product piracy. The paper analyses the product piracy clause in the general terms and conditions according to the German law. Furthermore it provides information on the measures that Messe Frankfurt is taking against copying, for example information initiative for exhibitors and visitors, services for exhibitors and visitors, cooperation with the authorieties, customs inspections and confiscations, round table brand and product piracy. The Messe Frankfurt is organising as well: "The Idea" competition and the Action Plagiarius.
